Christmas Morning Breakfast Casserole

A delicious and hearty breakfast casserole perfect for Christmas morning.

Ingredients

  • 8slices of bread, cubed
  • 1lb sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cupshredded cheddar cheese
  • 6large eggs
  • 2 cupsmilk
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1/2 tspblack pepper
  • 1/2 tspgarlic powder
  • 1/2 tsponion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread.
  3. Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the bread.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and sausage layers.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  8. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.

Notes

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Can be made a day in advance for convenience.
Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach.
