cooking turkey in a crockpot

A simple and delicious recipe for cooking turkey in a crockpot.

Ingredients

  • 1whole turkey (12–14lbs)
  • 2 cupschicken broth
  • 1onion, chopped
  • 4cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoonssalt
  • 1 teaspoonblack pepper
  • 1 tablespoondried thyme
  • 1 tablespoondried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoonolive oil

Instructions

  1. Rub the turkey with olive oil, salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
  2. Place the chopped onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Pour chicken broth over the onions and garlic.
  4. Place the turkey on top of the mixture in the crockpot.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the turkey is cooked through.
  6. Let the turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving.

Notes

Adjust cooking time based on the size of the turkey.
Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (165°F).
Leftover turkey can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
