  • ¾ cupplain gluten-free breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
  • For the Spicy Sesame Sauce:
  • 1 tablespoonoil
  • 5cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoonfresh grated ginger
  • cuplow-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • ¼ cuphoney (or maple syrup)
  • 2 tablespoonswater or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoontoasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoonrice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoonsgochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 12teaspoons sriracha (adjust to spice preference)
  • 1 teaspooncornstarch
  • 1 teaspoonwater

Instructions

  1. Cut the cauliflower into medium to small florets.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, non-dairy milk, garlic powder, and salt to create the batter.
  3. Add the cauliflower florets to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly. Then, toss them in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F.
  5. Once the air fryer is ready, add half of the cauliflower florets in a single layer in the basket (you may need to cook in batches depending on your air fryer size).
  6. Air fry the cauliflower at 370°F for 10-13 minutes, depending on how crispy you prefer it.
  7. While the cauliflower is cooking, prepare the spicy sesame sauce. In a small pot, heat the oil over medium heat and sauté the garlic until lightly golden. Add the ginger and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  8. Stir in the soy sauce, honey, water (or broth), sesame oil, rice vinegar, gochujang, and sriracha. Mix well.
  9. In a small dish, whisk together the cornstarch and 1 teaspoon of water, then stir this into the sauce. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and cook for a few minutes until it thickens. Remove from heat.
  10. Once both batches of cauliflower are done, place them in a large mixing bowl and toss with the spicy sesame sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped scallions. Serve immediately and enjoy!
