½ cupall-purpose flour

Instructions
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat to 350-375°F.
While the oil is heating, drain the pickles and lay them out on paper towels to remove excess moisture. Pat dry with more paper towels.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and black pepper. Gradually add water and mix until smooth to create the batter.
Place the panko breadcrumbs in a separate shallow dish.
Working in batches, dip the pickle slices into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Then dip them into the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to coat all sides.
Fry the pickles in batches, cooking each side for 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining pickles.
