Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings is a comforting dish made with tender chicken, vegetables, and fluffy dumplings cooked slowly in a rich broth.

  • 1.5pounds boneless chicken breasts
  • 4 cupschicken broth
  • 1 cupcarrots, sliced
  • 1 cupcelery, chopped
  • 1 cuponion, diced
  • 1 teaspoongarlic powder
  • 1 teaspoondried thyme
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper
  • 1can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cupfrozen peas
  • 1can (biscuits) refrigerated dumplings

Instructions

  1. Place chicken, broth, carrots, celery, onion, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper in the crockpot.
  2. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until chicken is cooked through.
  3. Remove chicken, shred it, and return it to the crockpot.
  4. Add cream of chicken soup and frozen peas to the mixture.
  5. Cut the dumplings into quarters and add them to the crockpot.
  6. Cook on high for an additional 30 minutes until dumplings are cooked through.

Notes

Adjust seasoning to taste.
Use rotisserie chicken for quicker preparation.
