crockpot roast recipe

A simple and hearty crockpot roast recipe that cooks slowly for maximum flavor.

  • 3to4pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoonolive oil
  • 1onion, chopped
  • 4cloves garlic, minced
  • 4carrots, sliced
  • 4potatoes, diced
  • 2 cupsbeef broth
  • 2 tablespoonsWorcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1 teaspoonblack pepper
  • 1 teaspoondried thyme
  • 1 teaspoonrosemary

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Brown the beef chuck roast on all sides in the skillet.
  3. Place chopped onion, garlic, carrots, and potatoes in the crockpot.
  4. Put the browned roast on top of the vegetables.
  5. Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the roast.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender.

Notes

For added flavor, you can marinate the roast overnight.
Adjust the vegetables based on your preference.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
