1 tspsalt
2 tspdried rosemary
1 tspdried basil
1 tspdried oregano
6cloves garlic, minced
2–2 ½cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cupgrated parmesan cheese
2 tbspolive oil
1 tbspbutter
Instructions
Activate the Yeast:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Stir until dissolved.
Mix Herbs and Spices:
Add salt, rosemary, basil, oregano, and minced garlic to the mixture.
Form the Dough:
Gradually mix in 2 cups of flour and the parmesan cheese, stirring until the dough begins to come together. Add the remaining ½ cup of flour as needed until the dough becomes soft, smooth, and slightly tacky.
First Rise:
Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl. Cover it with a clean towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Prepare the Baking Sheet:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Drizzle olive oil onto a baking sheet and set aside.
Shape the Loaves:
Once the dough has risen, divide it into two equal portions. Shape each piece into a round loaf and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Cover loosely and let them rise for another 15–20 minutes.
Add a Buttery Finish:
Place a small pat of butter (about ½ tbsp) on top of each loaf.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the loaves are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Cool and Serve:
Remove the bread from the oven and transfer it to a wire rack to cool. Slice and enjoy!
