Thanksgiving Green Bean Casserole

A classic Thanksgiving dish made with green beans and creamy mushroom sauce, topped with crispy onions.

  • 2pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cupmilk
  • 1 teaspoonsoy sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoonblack pepper
  • 1 1/3 cupscrispy fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and rinse with cold water.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  4. Add the green beans to the soup mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
  7. Remove from oven and stir in 2/3 cup of crispy fried onions.
  8. Top with remaining crispy fried onions and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

Notes

For a healthier option, use low-fat cream of mushroom soup.
You can substitute fresh green beans with frozen ones if necessary.
