A delicious and hearty breakfast casserole perfect for Christmas morning.
Ingredients

- 8slices of bread, cubed
- 1lb sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cupshredded cheddar cheese
- 6large eggs
- 2 cupsmilk
- 1 tspsalt
- 1/2 tspblack pepper
- 1/2 tspgarlic powder
- 1/2 tsponion powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread.
- Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the bread.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread and sausage layers.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
Notes
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Can be made a day in advance for convenience.
Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach.
